Hi! Thanks for stopping by!

I’m christina willis, RN, BScN, CNE(c).

Welcome! I’m so happy you’re here. I’m the writer, plant-based food blogger, photographer & creator of Wild & Whelm.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) & Culinary Nutrition Expert (c), I create recipes that will help you prioritize your health and help you find peace & balance in your transition and/or journey to eating more of a plant-based lifestyle.

As a current student of Culinary Nutrition, I am studying nutritional theories, science and principles of traditional diets and how it affects our health. With this knowledge, I’m able to share with you how food, nutrition, and cooking can assist in disease prevention and support your health.

As this may seem like simple knowledge to some, I can tell you first hand that as a RN, I directly see how health & nutrition impact one another.

Working in various areas such as medical research, medicine, surgery, long-term care, emergency medicine, and maternal-child/obsetrics, I’ve seen the many complications some health choices and conditions can have on the body.

Over the time that I’ve cared for many patients, I’ve become passionate about promoting healthy lifestyle changes by sharing with you how simple healthy eating can be by choosing ingredients that will support your health, getting back to the basics, and cooking more foods at home that are fun & plant-based focused.

I’ve seen the positive beneficial effects choosing to eat plant-based has had on my personal health journey as I was constantly struggling with digestive issues and a severe lack of energy. But it was my WILL to change my lifestyle that proved to be what I needed to make the shift, and I’m so glad I did.

At Wild & Whelm, you’ll find a wide range of fun and creative plant-based recipes that put focus on nutrition & flavors, and of course, the most decadent plant-based treats too!

I’d love for you to follow along on this journey of living and thriving on wildly delicious plant-based foods and whelming (turning) them into something nutritious, yet amazing, that you can share with your loved ones too.

“Plant-based cooking is more about following your heart than following recipes.”
